The Psalm tells us, “The heavens declare the glory of God.”
They always have.
They always will.
But we must be still enough to hear it.
The stars don’t shout.
The mountains don’t argue.
The wind doesn’t explain.
They simply are—
and in their being, they proclaim.
But we live in noise.
We scroll past silence.
We fill our days with motion,
and call it meaning.
We say we’re too busy to pray,
too tired to listen,
too distracted to notice
the glory that surrounds us.
Psalm 19 reminds us:
Day pours out the word to day,
night to night imparts knowledge.
Creation is speaking.
God is whispering.
But we must be still enough to hear.
Still enough to notice the morning light.
Still enough to feel the ache of longing.
Still enough to let grace rise
from the quiet corners of our lives.
Let us not miss the glory
because we refused the stillness.
Let us be the ones
who hear the heavens
and respond with worship.
Prayer: Still Enough to Hear
Lord, You are the Maker of stars, the Painter of mountains, the Father behind all beauty.
Forgive me when I stop at the created and forget the Creator. When I chase comfort, scroll past silence, and build altars to what will pass away.
Call me back to You. To the Word made flesh. To the altar unseen
Teach us to be still. To listen. To notice.
Slow our hearts, Lord.
Open our ears. And let our worship begin
where Your glory is already singing.
Amen.
