Guard Your Heart, Guard His Body

Readings 021726

We want to believe
that everyone will reach heaven.
And yes—His grace falls on all,
like rain on thirsty ground.
Jesus died for the sins of the world…
yet He tells us plainly:
I am the Way.
I am the Truth.
I am the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through Him.

And even inside His Church—
the Church He loves—
not every voice walks with the Shepherd.
Some will hear Him say,
I did not know you.
That truth should humble us,
not harden us.

Because friends,
the greatest threat to Christ’s Body
is not the world outside—
it is the division inside.
The tearing.
The blaming.
The believers who wound believers
and call it holy.
Zeal without love,
truth without mercy,
anger dressed up as righteousness.
But would Jesus ever command us
to attack His own.

Scripture warns us:
temptation begins small—
a desire, a spark—
and if we feed it,
it grows into sin,
and sin grows into death.
But every good gift,
every perfect gift,
comes from the Father of lights
whose mercy steadies our slipping feet
and comforts our crowded hearts.

So guard your heart.
Guard your tongue.
Guard your love.
Jesus still asks us:
Do you not understand.
Remember the One
who multiplies what we offer,
who heals what we break,
who comes to those
who keep His word.

Blessed is the one who perseveres.
Blessed is the one who loves.
Blessed is the one
who builds up His Body—
never tears it down.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, guard my heart from division
and keep my love rooted in You.
Steady my steps when pride rises
and soften my tongue when anger stirs.
Let Your light expose every false desire
and Your mercy heal what sin has broken.
Make me a builder of Your Body,
a keeper of Your word,
and a witness of Your unchanging love.

Amen
