Lord God of Peace,
We pray
for those who have served and
laid
down their lives
to protect and defend freedom.
We pray
for the care of those
who still live the battles,
with spirits and bodies
scarred by war.
We pray
for our country, and
the healing
of wounds
received - near and far
defending
our freedom and
the freedom for others
We pray and remember
those who serve us now
shield
them from danger and
bring them home safe.
We pray
that all who have fought
to find in You, Lord
the power
to be gentle, and
the strength
to forgive and find peace.
We pray,
remember
in patience ,
understanding; and
endurance
the required duty
right and just
May the Giver of life –
bless these memories;
grant to each
of us peaceful souls.
May the Creator of all
help us to devote our
life
thoughts and
energy
to justice and peace.
May the Holy Spirit
create in us
the passion to fulfill
the destiny
for which all men were created.
Christ Jesus, hear our prayer,
