Some people hear the call to goodness—
to self‑giving, to mercy, to truth—
and something inside them recognizes Christ.
Others hear the call of self and pride,
and that becomes who they are first,
even in their faith,
even in their religion.
Scripture warns that such hearts become false,
their altars crumble,
because anything built on pride
cannot stand in the presence of the Light
who has come into the world.
But here is the beauty of our faith:
Jesus still walks toward false hearts—
not to crush them,
but to convert them.
He summons disciples,
gives authority to heal,
to drive out what is unclean,
to proclaim the Gospel with their lives:
“The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Not a kingdom of performance,
but a kingdom of truth.
Not a kingdom of noise,
but a kingdom of light.
Because when Christ’s light enters a heart,
the false self begins to fall away.
Pride loosens.
Guilt breaks open.
And slowly—gracefully—
a new heart begins to beat:
a heart capable of goodness,
capable of surrender,
capable of love.
So today we pray:
“Pour out Your Spirit on us, Lord…”
Make our hearts true.
Make our witness real.
Fill us with peace as we believe in You—
the Light who changes everything,
the Light through whom our lives
may bear fruit abundantly.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Light of the world,
Shine gently through
every shadow of my heart.
Break down the pride
that keeps me distant.
Make my faith honest.
My love surrendered.
Pour out Your Spirit
till my life bears holy fruit.
Hold me close to Your mercy.
Amen
