God has called me to be His servant.
 It’s not a job I applied for.
It’s a call I carry in my bones.
And though my wife—bless her—often says,
“Take a weekend. Say no. Rest,”
I find it hard to step away.
She is always there beside me.
Saying yes to God in her own way.
A deacon’s wife lives a life of service too.
So I ask myself, often:
Am I doing this for God… or for me?
 Is this service… or striving?
 Is it grace… or grasping?
Then I hear Paul’s words:
“The gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.”
God doesn’t take back what He gives.
 He doesn’t change His mind.
He doesn’t call us… and then un-call us.
And yet—He doesn’t need me to prove anything.
“For who has known the mind of the Lord?”
I don’t have to figure it all out.
I just have to be faithful.
From Him… through Him… for Him…
 That’s the rhythm.
 That’s the rest.
And in the end:
“You will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
 Not with applause.
 But with resurrection.
 And that… is enough.
Prayer: Faithful to the Call
Lord,
You have called me to serve—
not by merit, but by grace.
Your gifts are never taken back.
 Your call is never undone.
Thank You for the one who walks beside me,
 for her quiet yes,
for our shared path toward You.
Help me serve with humility,
 discern with honesty,
 and walk in Your rhythm:
from You, through You, for You.
And when the work is done,
 may resurrection be enough.
Amen.
