What’s the loudest thing you see?
Rage.
A commentator said the media has found
something that sells better
than almost anything else:
rage.
Anger grabs attention.
Outrage keeps us watching.
Division fills our headlines and our conversations.
But into that noise,
God speaks a different word.
St. Paul tells us we were once
far from God and far from one another.
Yet through the Blood of Christ,
we have been brought near.
Near to God.
Near to one another.
No longer strangers,
but members of God’s household.
The world profits by pulling people apart.
Christ gave His life to bring people together.
And He is still building.
The Apostles and prophets are the foundation,
Christ is the capstone,
and in Him we grow into a holy temple.
So how do we live in that temple?
The Gospel answers:
“Blessed are those servants
whom the master finds vigilant.”
Vigilance means guarding our hearts,
refusing to let the world’s anger shape us
more than Christ’s love.
So when the Master comes,
may He find us drawing people closer,
building up, not tearing down,
and shining His light in a world
that profits from darkness.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
When anger fills the world,
fill my heart with Your peace.
When division pulls people apart,
make me an instrument of Your love.
Keep me vigilant and rooted
in Your truth and mercy.
May I help build Your kingdom
by drawing others closer to You.
Amen.
