Life is a puzzle.
Not the kind spread neatly across a table,
but the kind carried through the years,
with pieces tucked into pockets,
hidden in memories,
and sometimes scattered by loss.
None of us holds every piece of our own puzzle.
Like children who have mixed several puzzles together,
we carry pieces that belong to others,
and they carry pieces that belong to us.
A child leaves fingerprints on our hearts.
Family and friends shape us in ways
we could never shape ourselves.
Even those we've loved and lost
still hold a place in the picture
God is forming.
Yet above all the other pieces,
there is one that gives meaning
to every part of the picture:
God.
The puzzle is ultimately
our relationship with Him.
Spiritual maturity is learning
to live in that relationship,
accepting that we were never meant
to complete the picture alone.
Jesus warned against a faith
that looks good on the outside
but leaves the heart unchanged.
Paul reminds us that life in the Spirit
transforms us from the inside out.
When we surrender our hearts to God,
love begins to grow naturally.
Joy takes root.
Peace settles in.
Patience, kindness, and mercy
become the fruit of a life connected to Him.
The goal is not simply to follow rules.
The goal is communion with God.
It is allowing Him to place the missing pieces
where they belong
until the image reflected back
is not merely who we are,
but who He is creating us to become.
And little by little,
piece by piece,
the masterpiece comes into view.
Prayer
Lord,
when my life feels incomplete,
remind me that You
hold every missing piece.
Teach me to live in loving relationship
with You and with others.
Transform my heart by the power
of Your Holy Spirit.
May my life bear the fruit of Your love,
peace, and grace.
Amen.
