Advent is a season of waiting.
Waiting is not easy.
It is not passive.
It is a posture of hope.
And in this waiting, we discover:
God’s providence is not hidden only in the extraordinary.
It is revealed in the ordinary rhythms of daily life.
The sacred happenstance—the unexpected encounters, the small interruptions, the quiet moments—these are the places where God’s will unfolds.
God is here, even now.
Holiness is not for the few.
It is not for the extraordinary.
Jesus came to make holiness possible for all.
Holiness is found in the simplicity of family life.
In the humility of work.
In the hidden sacrifices of love.
True holiness is not about grand gestures.
It is about fidelity to God in the present moment.
God is here, even now.
Scripture assures us:
“He will be gracious to you when you cry out; as soon as he hears, he will answer you.”
“Blessed are all who wait for the Lord.”
God is attentive.
God is present.
Waiting is not wasted time.
It is hope.
It is trust.
It is attentiveness to His movements in our lives.
God is here, even now.
Jesus walked through towns and villages.
He taught. He healed. He proclaimed the Kingdom.
His heart was moved with pity for the crowds, “like sheep without a shepherd.”
This is the heart of God: attentive, merciful, engaged in the ordinary struggles of humanity.
The Kingdom is not distant.
It is at hand.
It breaks into our daily lives through grace, providence, and love.
God is here, even now.
Holiness is not escape from the ordinary.
It is discovering God within it.
Every prayer whispered.
Every act of kindness.
Every moment of patience.
Each becomes a step toward holiness when united with Christ.
God is here, even now.
Advent invites us to slow down.
To pay attention.
To recognize God’s plan unfolding in the sacred happenstance of everyday life.
Holiness is not beyond reach.
It is found in the humble.
It is found in the simple.
It is found in the faithful who wait for the Lord with open hearts.
God is here, even now.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
teach us to wait with hope.
Teach us to see You in the interruptions,
in the quiet moments,
in the sacred happenstance of our days.
Make our ordinary lives holy.
Bless our work.
Bless our love.
Bless our waiting.
Come into our hearts this Advent.
Come into our homes.
Come into our struggles.
Come into our joy.
We wait for You.
We trust in You.
We love You.
God is here, even now.
Amen.
