I was very sick once—
sick enough to know
God gave me a second chance.
And lately, sickness has visited again—
not the same,
but enough to make me think
as the years gather behind me.
Our life here is limited—
a short breath,
a passing shadow.
Yet in this limited life,
God created us with purpose.
Before commandments,
before covenants,
before sin—
we were created
for **relationship**.
Created to walk with Him,
to bear His image,
to share His life and love
with the world.
And that relationship is eternal—
a life God wants us to continue
after this life ends.
But we must choose it
now.
The prophet prays,
“Are you not from eternity, O Lord,
my holy God, immortal?”
The Eternal One
invites us
into His eternity.
Jesus shows us how.
A father brings his suffering son—
the disciples try,
but cannot heal him.
Yet Jesus speaks,
and the boy is made whole—
because relationship with God
is lived through **faith**.
Later the disciples ask,
“Why could we not drive it out?”
And Jesus answers,
“Because of your little faith…
If you have faith
the size of a mustard seed,
you will move mountains.”
Faith is not strength—
faith is trust,
faith is relationship.
And the hurdle we must cross
is pride—
the quiet voice that says,
“I can do this myself.”
And we cannot.
But God already chose us.
He already calls us.
He already invites us
into the relationship
we were created for—
now,
and forever.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Draw my heart into the relationship
You created me for.
Teach me to trust You
more than my strength or pride.
Let my faith—
small as a mustard seed—
rest fully in You.
Lead me into the life with You
that begins now
and lasts forever.
